The Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center (SCSC) will provide an alternative to the hospital or emergency room for those experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.

MHAST was awarded a multi-million dollar grant from the New York State Offices of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Supports to develop and operate a Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center facility, which will serve an eight county region and provide care 24/7/365 to individuals in crisis.

The SCSC will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, certified peers and other trained professionals. Individualized support, connection to resources, and referrals for community services will be part of the services provided to clients during their stay.

The SCSC will be located on West State Street in Binghamton and will open sometime in 2024.
