SCR
The Supportive Crisis Residence (SCR) provides a safe, home environment for adults ages 18+ experiencing a mental health crisis. The program is a open 24/7, staffed by Direct Support Professionals with a certification as a NYS Peer Specialist. Staff assist and support individuals on person-centered goals during their short-term stay; stays are voluntary and focus on mental health recovery.
The Supportive Crisis Residence is licensed through the NYS Office of Mental Health.
Individuals can be referred to the SCR by a treatment provider or community organization. Individuals can also self-refer by calling the SCR directly. Each person is pre-screened to determine eligibility and once approved for admission may stay up to 28 days at the residence.
The SCR serves six individuals at any given time. Each individual has a private bedroom and access to multiple shared spaces including a living room, activity room, bathroom, kitchen and laundry. The SCR also has a large, private backyard and parking available.
Each individual is asked to identify needs and goals while staying at the SCR. Our staff support each client to make strides towards achieving their goals prior to discharge. Staff are available for support 24-7.
