MHAST believes in recovery from mental illness and further believes consumer-focused programs and services are essential elements in the recovery process. Our staff includes certified Peer Specialists whose personal lived experiences lend to enhanced skill sets, understanding and empathy toward the consumers that access our services. We offer hospital diversion assistance through education, advocacy, groups, activities, and community based resource referrals.

The Adult Non-Medicaid Care Program provides care management services to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness and supports them in living a safe, healthy, and enriched life.

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program provides training to first responders for crisis situations involving behavioral health. With a strong community partnership between law enforcement, mental health providers, and emergency services personnel, this program aims to divert individuals experiencing a mental health crisis away from the criminal justice system and into the behavioral health system.

Working with the local police departments to assist in 911 dispatches involving a mental health situation, our trained, professional staff meets the police at the dispatched location and works with the individual in crisis to determine appropriate resources and services they may be in need of.

Offering a beacon of hope for the community, Our House provides a safe and nurturing environment as an alternative to hospitalization for people facing a mental health challenge. Here, guests can stay for up to five days in a residential setting. Guests can stay active in the community while they explore and improve their mental wellness with the help of our trained staff offering peer support. Here at Our House, we encourage a focus on wellness where people with a mental health diagnosis or struggle are no longer stigmatized
